Well, last night we had a bit of a fright... And everyone is curious about what happened. But don't worry, everything is okay!
Well, yesterday I (Sophia) woke up with a very bad headache, blurry vision, stiff neck and some random abdominal pain. And is was not going away. So I looked through my book of "when to call the doctor during pregnancy" and all 4 of those symptoms were on the "urgent attention" list. So we both got a little bit worried and called our doctor just to ask what we should do. And she didn't return our call for nearly an hour, but when she did the only thing she said was, "I think you should go to the emergency room, right now" I instantly FREAKED OUT! I didn't know what the big deal was or what could be so bad! But we obeyed. We got to the emergency room at the same hospital that we will be delivering at, Portland Adventist (which is where I was born). When we got there, there was of course a line to the door, but we didn't have to wait in it at all because the ER nurse was waiting for us at the door (just in case we weren't panicked enough!!) She says, "Are you Sophia? Your doctor called and we already checked you in." They wheeled in a WHEEL CHAIR and took me directly to LABOR AND DELIVERY! I was like, "NO! I don't need to go there!! That's where you go when you have a baby right? No, I'm not in labor. Do you think I'm in labor? I'm not!!! Tony, tell them I'm not!!" So we got up there and they did all of the baby tests and monitored both baby and I, and everything was OK with baby and I both. But then they say, "We think you have meningitis, so you need to go back down to the ER" I was like, "no, I don't..... I was just worried about the baby because the symptoms were on the list" But they made us go down and sit in a teenie room for 3 hours! With no help or tests or anything. They thought I was there with just a headache! If that was it, I would have stayed home and taken a Tylenol and a bath! Sheesh! So we eventually got discharged with instructions on how to treat a headache... even though I was not the concern of the evening, It was the baby we were worried about. And once we found out everything was OK with him, we were fine to go. But no... I'm left asking... do people really go to the emergency room for a headache? That's ridiculous to us! But everything is OK, and the baby had an exciting night last night. Thanks to our parents for of course rushing right to the hospital when you found out we were there. We know the grand baby is loved already!
So there is the update! Kinda fun hehe. But everything is just fine! We still have 3 months till baby, but last night gave us a bit of a fright!

27 Week Update!

Its been a while since we've updated. But no news is good news! Everything is going wonderfully with baby! We had our 26 week doctors appointment last week. We took the gestational diabetes test and passed! Healthy mom and baby, thank God! He's kicking and wiggling all day! Its so much fun for us to both be able to feel him kick and punch and move around. The first part of his furniture set came today. He's getting the greatest room ever! There's a picture of daddy putting together his big armoire. It has a few more pieces than we were expecting! :-)
There's not a whole lot to say other than that. All is well and we're getting so excited about our baby boy coming! We'll keep you updated with more things as they come up. We love you all!
